Donation of Essential Items to the Apeksha Hospital (Cancer Hospital)
In commemoration of the International Women's Day, we the Lions Club of Weedagama donated some essential items to the Maharagama Apeksha Hospital on 08.03.2019 and the Director of the Apeksha Hospital taken over those items.
PLANTS DISTRIBUTION
TO THE CHILDREN OF PRE-SCHOOL
On the Independence Day Celebration of the Rainbow Montessori of Bandaragama, Western Province, Sri Lanka, we the Lions Club of Weedagama, made arrangements to distribute fruit plants among new students on 04.02.2019.
Also, the Deputy Cabinet Secretary (Environment) emphasized in explaining to the parents of the pre-school children regarding the maintenance of a tree after planting it methodically and the importance of using organic manure refusing poisonous chemicals.
MULTI SERVICE PROJECT & MULTI SERVICE HEALTH CAMP
We, the Lions Club of Weedagama intended to launch a Multi Service Project along with Multi Service Health Program being humanitarian partners to the deserving people who are above 55 years of age in and around our locality.
We arranged a joint project with Helpage Sri Lanka Institute and accordingly, they visited our area with 05 staff including a Doctor on 27.12.2018.
They were testing the pressure and sugar levels of the people who came to receive our services on that day.
Awareness program was conducted by the Doctor how to avoid diabetes state by controlling the sugar level
Vision screening was done for 75 elders and 18 were detected for cataract surgery
Arrangements have been made to distribute exercise books among 70 students in and around the area
Milk packets were distributed among all the students
Few selected students were given all the books & educational materials which they require for one year by 2VDG .
150 Pomegranate plants were distributed among all the people who participated for the health camp.
Finally, Cabinet Treasurer gifted a Wheel Chair to our club.
DISTRICT 306 A2 QUIZ CONTEST
We, the Lions Club of Weedagama participated for the District Quiz Contest on 22.12.2018 and won the first place.
AWARENESS PROGRAM TO SCHOOL CHILDREN REGARDING DRUG ADDICTION & CHILD ABUSE - HELD ON 22.11.2018
We, the Lions Club of Weedagama - District 306A2, in co-operation with the Millaniya Police Station, arranged an awareness program to the school children of Sri Devarakkhitha Vidyalaya, Millaniya, Western Province, Sri Lanka, on 22.11.2018. Students of Grade 9 - 13 participated for the program and would like to mention the Presenter who expertise in this subject is attached to the Police Department. It was very useful & successful program since Drug Addiction and Child Abuse are timely issues which badly affected to the society.

WE, THE LIONS CLUB OF WEEDAGAMA DISTRIBUTED 150 DINNER PACKETS TO THE PEOPLE IN FLOOD AFFECTED AREA NAMED MILLANIYA, WESTERN PROVINCE, SRI LANKA, ON 08.10.2018. THEY HAVE GATHERED IN SEVERAL PLACES AND WE HAD TO GO THERE IN THE DARK FOR HANDING OVER MEALS.

Our Club launched a Fund Raising Project on 11th August 2018. We decided to stage a classical musical show and invited one of the most popular singers in Sri Lanka Visharada Edward Jayakody for the show. A large audience was present to see the musical show.

We donated a Water Tank to a needy family in the village named Halthota in Kalutara District, Sri Lanka on 01.07.2018.
